SCHOOL OF MOTION: ANIMATION BOOTCAMP

(STUDENT WORK)

Description

I had a great deal of fun on this course covering the fundamental principles of animation and engaging with the other students. Lots of rigorous practice with the curve editor and problem solving through a series of projects. Overall, it was a thoroughly challenging but rewarding experience. The following videos are selected assignments from the course. Starter project files, assets and audio were provided.

Be the Ice Sculptor (Final Project)

We were provided with a series of boards for starters and tasked to bring together all that we have learned from the course. I was able to create a cohesive and lively animation while honoring the intended style.

The following are selected assignments from the course:

Step Three

This assignment was aimed at familiarizing the students with the curve editor in After Effects.

Pong Challenge

Mastering the art of the bounce can be a challenge but also fun!

Brainhole Part Deux

This assignment was originally an evaluation project in week one. Roughly half way through the course, we were asked to revisit this project and incorporate what we have learned thus far.

Ministry of Eye Control

Similar to bounces, eye trace is a concept that can be deceptively simple and involve more finesse than one would expect. Optional audio files were provided but I decided to try my hand at adding some sound effects.

Scrapbook Elvis

We were required to practice animating in a stop-motion style on this assignment.
